Can Art

Postering Ibiza: a retrospective of club culture through the island’s most iconic party posters — paired with a talk exploring the value of cross-disciplinary creativity.

Who called?

CAN — Contemporary Art Now, an international contemporary art fair curated by global guests, aiming to become an innovative platform for discovering the latest trends in the art world.

What did they want?

To organize an exhibition of posters showcasing the evolution of Ibiza’s vibrant party scene from the 1980s onward, through the artwork of the island’s most iconic events.

What did we think?

We wanted Postering Ibiza: 1980–2020 to reflect the spirit of Ibiza’s streets in the ’80s and ’90s — an open-air gallery filled with posters and illustrations by artists like Yves Uro and Rom-Ero. The exhibition needed to highlight iconic venues such as Ku, Amnesia, Pacha, and Space — places where daily parties transformed the island into a global hub of musical hedonism.

What did we do?

We contacted the original artists and curated a historical narrative through a handpicked selection of posters, which were displayed during the fair (June 26–30, 2024). To deepen the experience, we organized a talk featuring Nazy Nazhand, John Acquaviva, and Danny Whittle in a conversation moderated by Christian Len, curator of the exhibition.
